» Red
Fort in Delhi - Red Fort or Lal Quila as it is more
popularly known is a masterpiece of architecture and has
become a synonym of the capital city. Red Fort is one of the

This colossal fort on the banks of the river Yamuna, built by
Shahjahan as the citadel of the 17th Century Delhi is a
significant link between the past and the present, for it is
from here that the prime minister of India addresses the
people on the Independence Day (August 15th) every year which
is the pride to nation!
» Qutub Minar Delhi - Built in 1199 by
Qutub-ud-Din Aibak , the first Muslim ruler of Delhi,
commenced the construction of the Qutub Minar in A.D. 1193,
but could only complete its basement. His successor, Iltutmush,
added three more stories, and in 1368, Firoz Shah Tuglak
constructed the fifth and the last storey. The development of
architectural styles from Aibak to Tuglak are quite evident in
the minar. Qutub Minar is still the tallest stone tower as
well as one of the finest Islamic structures ever erected in
India. Qutub Minar is one of the most visited tourist
destination of Delhi.
» India Gate Delhi - The high majestic arch
which is 42 meters high was built as a memorial dedicated to
Indian Soldiers killed in the World War I. The surrounding

The great Jama Masjid of Old Delhi is both the largest in
India and the final architectural extravagance of Shah Jahan
with a courtyard capable of holding 25,000 devotees at a time.
» Rajghat
Rajghat a simple open platform inscribed with the Mahatma's
last words, 'Hey Ram' (Oh God) is set in a garden with
fountains and a variety of exotic trees, which enhances the
whole of the ambience. The mortal remains of Mahatma Gandhi
were cremated on Rajghat on the west bank of the river Yamuna
on the evening of January 31, 1948. One should visit to pay
homage to the Father of Nation Mahatma Ghandhi.
