Vacation Tour to Khajiar

Khajiar is 22 km away from Dalhousie and 24 km from Chamba. Khajiar is also popular for its natural beauty. The small 2000 m high and 2 km by length and 1 km by breadth place looks like a stirrup, and is covered by a blue sky and studded with green woods. Amidst the serene woods of pines and deodar, the golf ground is situated beside a small lake. The adjacent temple is full of myths. The dome of the temple is clothed with gold. Temple of Khajianag is also there. HPTDC arranges couducted tour in the peak season from Dalhousie at Rs 70 for Khajiar. From Chamba leave by the bus at 13-30 hr and return by the bus at 17-00 hr, finishing your tour. The Dalhousie bound bus that leaves Chamba at 07-00 hr touches Khajiar.

The Lake
Set in the rolling green turf is a small lake. One gets out of the car to go to the lake but the ground seems to give way. The earth is 'spongy' due to dense growth of weed called 'vacha' over which dust has formed a thick layer of earth.
